TRADITIONAL DETACHED COTTAGE WITH GARDEN

Gorllan is a traditional Pembrokeshire cottage, with has a deeply set central doorway and a distinctive asymmetric façade, with black detailing around the windows and corners contrasting against white roughcast walls. Two chimneys stand at either end, and a 20th-century lean-to adds extra space.

Downstairs there are two living areas, which feel warm and inviting. Both rooms have exposed timber ceilings and wooden floors and are separated by a rustic original wooden wall and door.

The dining room has the original stone ‘simne fawr’ fireplace complete with bread oven and the Rayburn range. The dining table will seat up to four people and there are additional chairs and a dresser containing crockery and some local Welsh pottery. We have a small selection of cookery books and also books of local interest, a few in the Welsh language.

The sitting room has a wood burner and two sofas – one of which is a sofa bed to allow for flexibility of sleeping arrangement for two people not in a couple. (Please let us know when booking if required.) There is a small smart television and Fibre broadband.

A small modern extension contains the wooden kitchen which is is bright, practical and compact  – featuring a Belfast sink beneath a large picture window overlooking the garden.  For those wary of the Rayburn (or just in a rush) there are a variety of cooking alternatives, including a portable halogen hob, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and slow cooker. There is a wide range of utensils, a Nespresso machine, pots, pans and crockery. We also have a washing machine, compact dishwasher and fridge-freezer.

The downstairs shower room has just been refurbished.

A short wooden staircase leads to the upstairs dressing room, and bedroom, with a king size bed, side tables and some built in under eaves storage. Both rooms have a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams.

The parking space is at the back of the cottage, close to the churchyard entrance, and beyond this is a secluded and private (but not fully enclosed) garden with views over to the church and churchyard. There will be seating areas and garden furniture once the weather improves – Gorllan is being launched in Winter
